It’s time for my monthly blog circle and this month’s happiness through my eyes is looking at the joy of a child’s summer. The simple pleasures of a beach on a windy day, paddling in your clothes and walking home with soggy legs, a water sprinkler in the garden, snuggling in a towel to get dry afterwards……. and not being bothered that both you and it are covered in grass cuttings….
Please head over to see my friend Ana, who is based in Barcelona, for her interpretation of happiness for July.
Love these photos Louise and I am so delighted that you managed to show that we do sometimes have a summer here in England! I just adore those sprinkler ones, such joy in those photos. Here’s hoping this is the beginning of a great summer. x
The colors in the clothes/reflections at the beach are so gorgeous! And I just love the movement in the sprinkler shots! It reminds me of playing in the sprinkler at my Grandma’s in upstate NY when I was a kid. Talk about happy times!
Lou this is exactly how a summer for children should be. My favorites are the sprinkler shots. Loved to read your post.
Louise, your photos describe summer the way it’s meant to be!!! It makes me wish I were 7 again… oh those carefree summer days full of no school and endless adventure. No bills, no school loans, no job stress… just the joy of being a kid. My favorite images are the ones with your daughter running towards the ocean and the image at the end with all of the girls and their towels. You can just see the happy contentment in their expressions! Thanks for reminding me that it’s the little things that can make all the difference. 🙂
